Bryan TAN is a partner at Reed Smith. Qualified in both England and Wales and Singapore, he practises in such areas as data protection, finance, technology, media and telecommunications and advises corporates as well as governments and is ranked top tier in several categories by Legal500 and Chambers. He is a legal adviser to the ASEAN Single Window project and the United Nations Network of Experts for Paperless Trade and Transport in Asia and the Pacific and also the co-chair of the TMT sub-committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. He is the editor/author of Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore: E-Commerce/Information Technology; Halsbury’s Laws of Malaysia: E-Commerce; and E-Discovery in Asia. He also co-wrote Electronic Evidence, the Handbook of Comparative Higher Education Law, ASEAN and the Belt & Road Initiative and Data Protection Law in Singapore – Privacy and Sovereignty in an Interconnected World. Bryan serves as legal advisor to a number of charities in Singapore, is the vice-chair of the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore council and also teaches the Chief Information Security Officer certification course.
