Robin Martens is Head of Strategy and Partnerships for JD Central, JD.com’s ecommerce joint venture with Central Group in Thailand. After completing his MBA at INSEAD, he joined JD in 2016 where he has led several projects on cross border ecommerce, JD’s international expansion into Indonesia, and fresh food business. Since 2017, he has been part of Thailand’s newest ecommerce business, effectively working in a partnership between China’s biggest retailer and Thailand’s biggest retail group, creating a new value proposition of trust and convenience for Thai consumers. The JD Central ecommerce platform has formally launched operations on 618, June 18 of 2018.
Prior to working for JD, Robin worked in Europe and Africa, first for Sia Partners, a consulting firm focused on the technology and energy sectors, then for SHER Consulting, focusing on IT and infrastructure related projects.
